Milano City Marathon

In 2013 more than 14,000 runners took part, both over the full Marathon distance and in the relay marathon where over 2000 teams joined up in support of over 140 non-profit organisations. This makes it the most well-supported Marathon charity program in Italy.

The SuisseGas Milano Marathon was presented with the inaugural AIMS Green Award for its use of many different initiatives that help to achieve environmental goals. These include race participants receiving a free day ticket for public transport, and Milan Municipality’s declaration of an “ecological day”, banning all private motorised transport on the day of the race.
