The Intercontinental İstanbul Eurasia Marathon is the only one in the world run between two different continents.

Over the years, the marathon has been supported by İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality. An award of $50,000 is given to the winner. In addition to, Total of $1.001.000 is given to all categories. The largest mass sports events in Turkey for 34 years in a row. 13.006 runners participated in total (42km, 15km, 8km) in 2012. 100.000 citizens participated to Fun Run in the Intercontinental Istanbul Eurasia Marathon. The Marathon race has been awarded the IAAF Gold Label for Road Races.
