Sun 21 December 2025
Kolkata, the Cultural Capital of India, invites the world to run through its poetry, passion and purpose. With its historic streets, vibrant heritage and unmatched hospitality, this is a city of emotion. And now, it’s time to feel that emotion converging on the streets of Kolkata.
Bridging the gap between the half marathon and full marathon, the unique 25K distance offers the perfect challenge for those ready to level up. In the crisp, cool December weather runners enjoy a scenic route that winds past the majestic Victoria Memorial, the legendary Eden Gardens and the historic Fort William.
From elite athletes to first-timers and fun runners the Tata Steel World 25K Kolkata, in its 10th landmark edition, is a movement. What started as an effort to make the East run has grown into the world’s most iconic 25K – the first-ever World Athletics Gold Label 25K race.
The race has carved a special place in the hearts of runners with its many unique experiences. Every 25K finisher is honoured with the iconic Medal of Steel as a symbol of their extraordinary grit, resilience and endurance. Every 25K participant will sport a specially designed race-day tee, while the fastest 1000 finishers in the Open 10K (men and women) will earn an exclusive finisher’s tee, a testament to their achievement.
The Tata Steel World 25K Kolkata, promoted by Procam International, goes beyond the finish line, transforming running into a powerful philanthropic drive. It gives runners the opportunity to support society, assist NGOs and uplift meaningful causes through fundraising.
The event also championed a zero-waste-to-landfill initiative. Every bit of waste is responsibly managed making it a 100% waste-managed event.
“Tata Steel World 25K Kolkata is where there is an amalgamation of athletes from within the country and across borders. Along with 20,000 commoners, multitudes are encouraged to participate and take their initiative towards fitness.” Premier League star Sol Campbell.
Kenya’s Daniel Ebenyo shattered the men’s stand-alone world best for the 25K with a time of 1:11:13, Ethiopia’s Sutume Kebede holds the event record and with India’s rising stars the race has witnessed history in the making.
Join thousands of others as they chase their dreams on the streets of Kolkata this December. With passion in the air and purpose in every stride the event promises an experience like no other.
