Tenzing Hillary Mount Everest is the most iconic trail running marathon in the World. It starts from the foot of Mount Everest Base Camp at 5,400m+. High points are running down to the Everest Sagarmatha National Park Headquarters and the Sherpa Capital Namche Bazar. Our runners run through the Everest Ice Falls, glaciers, moraines and yak trails. They pass by the stupas and monasteries, cross through the Hanging Bridge and pass through the Rhododendron Orchid Forest in the habitat land of the Musk Deer.
Our runners do the running, as well as :
Plant trees to protect the Mount Everest environment against climate change.
Protect against melting Himalayan glaciers, glacial lakes and outbursts from the changing Environment which cause loss of human life through floods and natural calamities in the Mount Everest Highlands.
Protect habitats of the endangered Musk Deer population in the Khumbu Everest Highlands.
Our Marathon also supports the local economy by creating jobs through an extended tourist season.
Our runners start their journey as international runners and return home as green conservationist runners, contributing to saving the Mount Everest environment against climate change.
