New women's course record in Seville

Ethiopian Zeineba Yimer Worku smashed the Medio Maraton de Sevilla course record with 1:06:33, the fifth best result of the year.

Emmanuel Roudolff, French champion in this distance, won the men’s category (1:00:24).

The race had 20,000 registered runners, a record number of participants.

Ethiopian athlete Zeineba Yimer Worku won the women’s category in the 2026 Seville Half Marathon (Medio Maraton de Sevilla) clocking in 1:06:33, setting a new race record by almost 45 seconds and setting the fifth-best time of the year on this distance. The Ethiopian athlete dominated the entire race unchallenged. Kenyan Winnie Jepskogei crossed the finish line in second place, achieving her personal best (1:07:45), while Ethiopian Aminet Ahmed Abde completed the women’s podium in 1:09:11. Marta Galimany was the first Spanish woman (and fifth overall) to cross the finish line with a time of 1:09:57, also her personal best.

In the men’s category, the race was hotly contested from the starting gun to the final metres, with an exciting sprint victory for Frenchman Emmanuel Roudolff in 1:00:24, ahead of Kenyan Owen Korir Kapkama, second in 1:00:25, who was making his debut at this distance. His compatriot Jonathan Kipkoech Kamosong was third (1:00:33). Roberto Alaiz was the first Spaniard to cross the finish line in 1:03:55, ninth overall.

In the wheelchair category, the winner was Guzmán Martín Jiménez with a time of 1:20:16.
