Nagoya Women’s Marathon
Sun 14 March 2027
Overseas early entry for the Nagoya Women’s Marathon 2027, taking place on Sunday, March 14, 2027, opened on Tuesday, August 11.
The Nagoya Women’s Marathon, held in Nagoya, Aichi, Japan, is the world’s largest women-only marathon, certified by Guinness World Records. As a World Athletics Platinum Label road race, it features thrilling competition among some of the world’s top athletes, but the stars of this race are not limited to the elite field. For 2027, the race capacity has been expanded by 2,000 to 22,000 runners. From first-time marathoners to experienced runners chasing a new personal best, and from 19-year-olds to runners in their 80s, women of all ages and backgrounds will take on the same 42.195 km course, each pursuing their own goal.
One of the highlights of the Nagoya Women’s Marathon is the special award presented to every finisher. Each runner who crosses the finish line receives an exclusive crystal tumbler created for the event by Baccarat, the renowned French luxury brand with more than 260 years of history. The design of the 2027 finisher tumbler will be unveiled at the Marathon EXPO on the day before the race.
The Nagoya Women’s Marathon is also committed to supporting women runners in every way possible, as it strives to remain “the world’s greatest stage for women to shine.” The race offers extensive medical support, an exceptional number of clean toilets, and spacious changing facilities to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for all runners. With a generous seven-hour time limit, a relatively flat course, and both the start and finish at Vantelin Dome Nagoya, a covered baseball stadium that provides protection from the weather, the race is designed to help runners of all levels reach the finish line. In 2026, 96.6% of participants completed the race.
The race weekend offers plenty to enjoy not only for runners, but also for their families and friends. The Marathon EXPO, starting on Friday, features a variety of events and entertainment, including the “GO RUNWAY” fashion show and a special live performance by a popular singer. On race day, male runners can also take part in the Nagoya City Marathon, held alongside the Nagoya Women’s Marathon, with a choice of the Half Marathon or the Nagoya RUN (8.5 km).
