A weekend made for running

It is a race that moves with the whole city. From the moment runners arrive, they step into a race weekend where running brings them into the rhythm of the city.

Now in its 14th edition, Danang International Marathon brings together a full weekend built around running, community and the energy of Da Nang. Through Our Local Spot, a special programme created for runners, Danang International Marathon connects its community with local businesses and experiences, bringing exclusive offers to runners. A meal at a local restaurant. A massage or recovery session. A local motorbike tour. An evening cultural show. Together, these experiences turn a race trip into a racecation, with the race creating new ways for runners to experience the city around it.

New for 2027, the 5km Night Run takes runners along the coastline after dark, with lights, music and DJs giving the race a rhythm all its own. It is a chance to run with friends and experience a side of Da Nang that only comes alive after dark.

For the next generation, the Kids Run offers 1.5km and 500m distances for young runners and their families.

Then come the main races: the 42.195km Marathon, 21.1km Half Marathon and 10km. The course follows the coastline before taking runners across Da Nang’s bridges, where the first light of day opens views across the Han River and the city below. There is the challenge of the distance, but also the occasional reason to look away from the watch and take in the view.

Every kilometre comes with company. With aid stations, medical support and baggage services in place, runners can focus on the experience and the challenge ahead. Volunteers bring energy to the course. Local residents line the streets. Even visitors who happen to be passing by stop to clap and cheer runners they have never met. Their cheers fill the streets, pushing runners through the toughest kilometres and turning the final stretch into a celebration.

Each year, Danang International Marathon welcomes runners from more than 78 countries and territories to Da Nang. On 21 March 2027, the 14th edition will bring this international running community together for a weekend where the city runs with them.
